Sakuranya privacy policy
Effective: October 28, 2026 · Developer: Hex Play · Contact: hexplaystudio@gmail.com
Sakuranya is a cozy cat logic puzzle by Hex Play. This policy explains, in plain words, what the game keeps and why.
The short version
- Your puzzles, stars, streaks and settings stay on your phone.
- When you play online, our server keeps only what online play needs: a random id, the name you chose, how your cat looks, your game stats, your friends and the friend requests and blocks you made.
- Signing in is optional. If you sign in with Google, our server keeps only your Google account id and your game save, so you can keep your progress on any device. Never your email, name or photo.
- We don't ask for your phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
- The game shows optional rewarded ads from Google AdMob, and only when you choose to watch one.
- We never sell your data.
- You can ask us to delete your online data at any time.
1. What stays on your phone
Your progress, stars, times, streaks, helpers, settings, store choices, your name and your block list are saved in the app's own storage on your phone. If you don't sign in, we can't see them, and uninstalling the app deletes them.
2. Online play: what our server keeps
The first time you play online, the app makes a random install id. It isn't your phone's id and isn't linked to your Google account. Your friend code is made from it. Other players see your friend code, never the id.
Stored on our server until you delete it:
- your random install id and friend code;
- the name you chose (please don't use your full real name);
- your look: cat, accessory, frame and title;
- your stats: online wins, losses, races, Grand Prix wins, best daily streak and dailies solved. Other players see them only if "Show my stats to others" is on in your profile;
- your friends, friend requests and the players you blocked;
- your Spirit Palace leaderboard entries (the level you reached each month, when, and the time each level took, which we use to spot cheating). We keep the current and the previous month;
- the time you were last online, to show friends whether you are online.
Used while you play, never stored:
- Room chat and emotes. A room keeps its last 30 chat lines in the server's memory so people who join can catch up. They are gone when the room closes and are never written to disk or to logs. Chat is filtered, but filters miss things: please don't share personal details.
- Your IP address, which every internet connection has. The server uses it only to stop spam and abuse, keeps it in memory for at most an hour, and never writes it to disk or logs.
Server logs. Short log lines help us fix problems and handle abuse: match and room results (names, board size, times, mistakes) and reports. When you report someone, the log keeps your name and friend code, theirs, the room code and the reason you picked. A person reads reports; there is no automatic punishment. Logs are deleted after 30 days.
Where: our server runs at UpCloud in Frankfurt, Germany. Connections reach it through Cloudflare, which protects and routes the traffic. Everything travels encrypted (wss/https).
3. Sign in with Google and cloud save (optional)
You can play everything without signing in. If you choose Sign in with Google:
- Google sends the app a sign-in token. The token includes your Google account id and, as Google always does, your email address, name and profile picture. The app sends the token to our server over an encrypted connection. The server checks with Google's public keys that the token is real, keeps only your Google account id (a number that means nothing on its own) and throws the rest away at once. Your email, Google name and picture are never stored or logged.
- Our server then keeps a copy of your game save: progress, stars, times, streaks, helpers, the items you own, your settings, and the name and look you chose. It is used only to restore your game on another phone, and it is kept until you delete it (section 9).
- Other players never see your Google account id or your email.
- Google's own privacy policy covers your Google account: https://policies.google.com/privacy
4. Game updates
At start, the app checks a small file on Cloudflare Pages to see whether a newer version of the game's content exists, and downloads it if so. This sends only what any web request sends (your IP address and the app version). No usage statistics are sent.
5. Ads (Google AdMob)
The game has no ads between levels. You can choose to watch a short rewarded ad to get an extra helper. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. When ads are shown, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (and an approximate location from it), how you interact with the ad, and crash and diagnostic data, to show the ad, measure it and prevent fraud. See how Google uses this data: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- In the EU, UK and other places where the law requires it, the game asks for your consent first (Google's consent form). You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options (shown where the rules require it). Without consent, Google may show limited, non-personalized ads or none.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Google → Ads, or Privacy → Ads, depending on the phone).
- Ads are set to content suitable for everyone (rating G).
6. Purchases
While the game is in testing, the store is free to try and nothing can be bought. When purchases open, Google Play handles all payments; we only receive a confirmation of what you bought, never your card or payment details.
7. Who can see what
- Players in your room: your name, look, title, friend code, and your stats if you share them.
- Your friends: your name, look, whether you are online and the room you are in.
- Everyone on the leaderboard: your name, look, friend code and level.
- Nobody sees your Google account id, your email or your cloud save.
- Service providers that run the game for us (UpCloud for hosting, Cloudflare for the connection and updates, Google for sign-in and ads) process data only for those jobs. We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
8. Your choices and safety tools
Mute a player, block them (blocked players can't send you friend requests, invites, chat or emotes), and report them. Turn off "Show my stats to others". Turn off emotes or set them to Friendly only.
9. Deleting your data
- In the game: Settings → Delete my online data deletes your online data at once: your install id, friend code, name, look, stats, friends, requests, blocks, leaderboard entries, and, if you signed in, the link to your Google account and your cloud save. The game on your phone keeps working as a guest.
- By email: write to hexplaystudio@gmail.com with your friend code (Profile shows it), and we delete the same data (and your cloud save, if you signed in) within 7 days, and tell you when it's done. Server backups are replaced within 30 days. Step-by-step page: https://nekodoku.pages.dev/delete-account.html
- Log lines that mention you expire on their own (section 2). Data on your phone is deleted when you uninstall the app.
- If you live in the EU or UK you also have the right to access, correct or object to the use of your data. Write to us, and you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Children
Sakuranya is meant for players 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has played online, write to us with their friend code and we will delete their online data.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top and tell you in the game before the change takes effect.
